MEET THE CHIEF

Chief James Wistinghausen has been the Chief of the Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 35 years.  He has led this department through many changes and today this Community has a Fire Dept. to be proud of.  Our Fire Department is made up of Volunteers who train to be Firefighters and First Responders to help the citizens of Bacliff.  Chief Wistinghausen has lived in Bacliff all of his life and takes pride in this Fire Dept..  His leadership and experience have brought many young people into the Fire Department as Volunteers and they have gone on to be career Firefighters.  Chief is also the General Manager of Bacliff Municipal Utility District.  He  plays a vital role in the Bacliff community!

MEET OUR NEW MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Bacliff Volunteer Fire Department welcomes Dr. Michael J. White, MD as the Medical Director for our First Responder Program.  Effective April 14, 2020, the Bacliff VFD has been issued our license to provide First Responder assistance to our Community.  Thank you Dr. White for supporting our efforts to take care of our Members.


Our President

Brad Bingham has been the President of the Volunteer Fire Dept. for 28 years.  He has unselfishly given his own time and has participated in the Administrative side of the Fire Dept.  He is currently a Pilot for United Airlines.  Brad became a member of the fire department in 1985 and continues to serve this great community.

OUR VOLUNTEERS

The Volunteers are the backbone of this department.  Without Volunteers there would not be a fire department.  If you see a someone with a Bacliff Fire Dept shirt on, stop and say thank you to them.  This folks give up their own free time and even sleep time to assist the citizens of Bacliff, TX.

NICOLE BORUK
CADET

Nicole has been an Industrial Firefighter and confined space rescue specialist for 10 years.  Nicole moved to Bacliff over a year ago and wants to serve the community in which she lives.  She has multiple fire, rescue, and hazmat certificates from TEEX, and us completing her EMT-B to be a Firefighter/EMT.  Nicole also served in the Army for 15 years.




JEFF BLACKMON
FIREFIGHTER

Jeff started his fire service at San Leon VFD in 2014 and in 2016 he went to the Army for 3 years.  Went he got out in 2019 he went back to San Leon VFD and became a Lieutenant in 2020.  He continued his career with Acadian ambulance service and came to Bacliff as a volunteer to be a firefighter and first responder.  Welcome to the team Jeff.

ANGELICA CAMPBELL
FIREFIGHTER

My name is Angelica and I have been a member of the Bacliff Volunteer Fire Dept since 2012.  I graduated from Dickinson high school and grew up in Bacliff.  I want to be a part of the Fire Dept because want to be someone in life and do something good in this world.



MISTY CUMMINGS
Secretary

Misty has been with the Bacliff VFD for about 20 years.  She is our Secretary of the department who faithfully keeps out minutes from Business meetings.  Misty has raised her kids in this department and runs calls with her husband as well.
SETH ELLIOTT
EMS DIRECTOR
Firefighter/Paramedic

Seth came to the Bacliff VFD on September 4, 2018.  We are excited to have Seth as he states, "I always wanted to be in Public Service and be able to help out my community."  Welcome to the Team!
He is a Firefighter/Paramedic with Texas City FD and Part time Paramedic with League CIty EMS.





ASHLEY HARR

My name is Ashley, and I want to become a firefighter and an EMT.  I want to help serve the community and make an impact in people's lives.

Firefighter

Frank comes to us from the community with a heart for helping others.  He completed the new member class and has trained to become a valuable asset to the Fire Dept and this Community.

CHRIS HEMMENWAY
Firefighter Support

Chris has lived in Bacliff for 2 years and he enjoys helping his Community.  He trains regularly with the firefighters and on scene is is Firefighter Support.  Chris spends his free time doing truck checks and cleans the trucks and hoses as needed.  He is a valuable part of this department.

BLAKELEY PADGETT MORGAN
Firefighter

Blakeley has successfully completed 160 hours in training with the SFFMA Firefighter I and continues her training with the Bacliff VFD.  She attended College of the Mainland and received a certification in Fire Technology.  Blakeley has been a member of the Bacliff VFD for 4 years.

MIKE MORGAN
Day Crew Firefighter

Mike has been in the Fire Service for 36 years.  Currently, he is the President of the Dickinson VFD and works for Bacliff MUD.  His time in Bacliff has been valuable as he assists our community during the day when the Volunteers are at their jobs.  Thank you Mike!



TYLER MORGAN
Firefighter/Lieutenant

Tyler is currently a firefighter with Dickinson VFD.  He has volunteered with them for 8 years and is also an instructor for Katy Area Rescue School.  He has also worked for Bacliff MUD for the past 4 years and is proudly serving this Community in his free time.



PETE ONUKAIVAGE
Captain / Firefighter

Pete comes to Bacliff VFD with many Fire Certifications from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  He continues to train both online and in the field.  He has attended classes from TEEX, Action Training, and FEMA.  Pete has been serving the Bacliff Community for 10 years.  After being the Safety Officer for several years, Pete moved up to be our Captain for 2020.


JOHN PELZEL
Firefighter/Lieutenant

I wanna be a part of Bacliff Volunteer Fire Department to help make a difference.  I want to help people in a time of need in anyway I can.  I have completed all my Firefighter 1 classes and will be doing Firefighter 2 this year.  I've lived in San Leon for 20+ years now.  I am married to my wife, Katelyn and we have a wonderful little girl named Paizlee, who just turned 1.  Our other baby is a full blooded German Shephard named Zoey.  I am very excited to be a part of this department and look forward to good things in the future helping out this community,



KATELYN PELZEL
Fire Fighter/First Responder

Hi! I'm Katelyn!  I am a first responder in the Bacliff Volunteer Fire Dept.  I graduated from Deer Park HS and went to Tyler Jr. College and studied Kinesiology.  I am married to my best friend who is a firefighter in the dept. as well.  We have a 3 yr old fur baby, Zoey who is a German Shephard and we have a 9 month old baby girl named Paizlee.  I currently work at a hospital in Clear Lake/Webster in the physical therapy dept.  I am excited to be a part of a wonderful dept and serve the community when needed.

Mike has been with the Bacliff VFD for 2+ years  and joins us from the Galveston Fire Dept.  He started firefighting career with Galveston in 2005.  Mike brings great Leadership to the Fire Dept. and plenty of experience for our Community!

Junior Members

Bacliff has started a Junior Firefighter Membership to include those from age 13-17, who are interested in persuing a career in Fire or EMS.  The Junior Members will be training in various areas to prepare them for full firefighting when they become of age.  All Juniors are required to have parental consent and meet all UIL regulations and guidelines. If you are interested in becoming a Jr. Member, you can fill out the application online and we will be in touch with you.  All meeting nights are on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Come by the station any of these evenings at 7:00 PM.



Abigail Onukiavage
Abigail is part of the newly formed Junior Cadet program at Bacliff VFD.  She hopes to one day further her education in the medical field.
